Designed (and obtained approvals for) new structure for the ferry, including a replacement wheelhouse and supporting cross structure;
Prepared independent cost estimate;
Assisted client’s solicitation of a Recognized Organization for the Delegated Statutory Inspection Program (transition from Transport Canada to delegated inspection);
Client’s project consultant for the duration of the refit;
Carried out post-refit Inclining and prepared new Stability Book; captured lessons learned.

Managing attempt to transition to DSIP and adapting plan to address challenges therein;
assessing shipyard’s reported progress and advising client.AFinal Outcome:
Successful return to service of the ferry with much improved operator facilities.
